The latest study, conducted at the University of Alberta in Canada, showed that a glass of red wine is as beneficial to our health as an hour of exercises at the gym.
This is so because of resveratrol, which is contained in red wine which improves efficiency, the functioning of heart and strengthens the muscles, that is actually has the same effect on the body as if we do exercises.
According to Jason Dyke, head of the study, this will allow people who are not able to attend gym to be in good physical shape.
Resveratrol increases the number of heartbeats, strengthens heart and makes the muscles stronger and sturdier, regulates blood sugar levels and has an anti-aging effect.
Studies have also shown that people who drink a glass of red wine a day are less likely to have dementia and cancer.
